“Quick Check” Spline Gages

Type “IN” for Internal Splines

“Quick-Check” Gages are designed to be a fast and accurate means of measuring size over or between pins. However, rather than pins, these gages have opposing precision carbide balls which contact the part. This allows for a more complete measurement since the balls contact the part through a single plane and not along a surface. By simply reading the indicator on the gage one can measure, taper, crown, hollow and out-of-roundness as well as size.

Each “Quick-Check” Gage is furnished with a master setting gage of specific size, for use in comparing part size to that of the master.

Over Pin Measuring Gages

These gages are mainly for use when measuring splines not having a smooth lateral surface due to the method by which the splines were cut. For these applications, we suggest using the Over Pin Measuring Gages thereby obtaining only the maximum material condition, eliminating the effect of surface texture on the measurements.
Additionally the part is roughly positioned in the gage to assure that the pins engage in the correct spline index.
